Danger
I'm sure the vast majority of climbers are aware of the risks and plan accordingly but a good friend of mine, and experienced climber, died in a climbing accident over the weekend.
So sad, such a great person and good husband/father. I'm not telling anyone to change their lifestyle. Just be safe everyone.

I am very sorry to hear of your friend's death. First of all may god be with you and his family during this troubling time. Second, you are absolutely right safety must be first and foremost when undertaking these types of recreational sports, an accident can happen in the blink of an eye, every decision must be deliberate in that seriously considering all ramifications of ones choices is paramount. Once again my condolences.
Pete

I met a woman in France. She lost two husbands to ice climbing.
Sorry for your loss Pumpkin.

I bet there are others on this forum that knew him. He went to ESF and was originally from Skaneateles.

Wow, I'm new on this board but I'm from Skaneateles and grew up with him even though I'm a few years older. Thanks for sharing the sad news.

Shame.. I wonder what happened? I grew up with Adam too, and had his mom as a substitute teacher many times along the way through SCS...

http://elections.wvmetronews.com/new...&storyid=52094 Rockfall. Sounds like no error on anyone's part; just a freak accident during what should have been a fun day cragging. Sad.

It is little consolation for his family, but he died doing something that he loved to do. There are worse ways to exit.
