With some effort and a mountain bike you can ride all the way through to the Hickory Ski center. Although the trails are getting harder to navigate in some spots due to branches and blow downs, etc,....

Hiked a lot of miles on Friday to close out early muzzle loader. Saw absolutely nothing! Too windy I think they were spooked. Saw sign and fresh track but they were long gone. Have to get the legs...

Honestly.... It can just as successfully be fished from shore. If you haven't been up the mountain before you should scout it before you kill yourself dragging a canoe up...and down to catch little...

I bring an inflatable and fish it. Not sure I would want to try dragging a canoe up that mountain, an inflatable is the way to go. It is a trout water, no fish as bait.
