Just in case Tony doesn't see this right away... I think the brake was put in in the early 1900's. Noah John moved in in 1912 after the Santa Clara Lumber Co. moved out.

In general, no lean-tos are reservable, they are first come, first serve. However, DEC campgrounds may have lean-tos that are reservable.

AFAIK, DEC cannot control air space, that's FAA. You can't take off from a lake in a Wilderness Area, but you can fly over one, like the scenic flights from Lake Placid. I believe flying a glider...

And yes, the LRP LT is still there! When you're at the open area on LRP (pines, small rocky ledge, view of the pond), the LT is directly behind you, on the small hill.

Maybe if enough people write....

There are places that see very little traffic and will never have a bear problem, Number Four LTs, the Cold River horse trail and most if not all of the NP.
