That's the good thing about fleece. The water(or sweat) will crystalize towards the surface. In the morning, all you have to do is skake it off and it's good as new.

Wow! They didn't chose the best of night to be lost. They were lucky enough that probably one of them was a smoker, thus was able to start a fire to be a bit warmer.

It's like interval training. Which is a training method used by many athletes. It is a pattern of exercise that is frequent when hiking on a up and down terrain. Same as XC mountain biking.
