Has anyone tried the iBobber Fish Finder?

I just ordered one on sale.

I was going to get a fish finder for my boat, but this thing was 89 bucks and I like how I can bring it anywhere my tackle box goes.

Great Sacandaga Lake's fishing tournament is on May 4th, hopefully this will locate those monster pike hiding on the bottom of the lake.

I have heard that for some it works, but I believe it mostly catches fishermen.

A friend has an earlier iteration. Not the greatest, but it beats hauling a hummingbird and a battery into backwoods ponds, only adds a few ounces total, and can be used ice fishing as well, although you won't see that monster laker swim up off the bottom and smash yer bait (and who wants to anyway, sometimes there can be too much technology!)

I Tried the deeper pro which is somewhat similar - didn't work for me - sent it back

I have an earlier version of this one.

Hauled it all over the 'dak's - even on my trip from LTL to Low's.

Handy device - really opened my eyes on Rock Pond and forever changed my approach to LTL.

I got one last fall and tried it on a pond took for ever to sync ...then it did marked some fish then lost connection ..couldn’t get it back. Synced eveytime in the house but 5 foot behind the canoe wasn’t great !

I have the Lowrance version called Fish Hunter which is similar to the iBobber. It's a piece of crap. Like Gsetter I keep losing connection with it.

I use the Humminbird Fishing Buddy now and it works fine. I do not use it so much for marking fish but more for finding depth and more importantly structure.
